Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, creating a passion for learning science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. These goals are accomplished through classroom activities, research, professional development workshops and the encouragement of intramural, district, regional, state, national and international tournaments.
Science Olympiad tournaments are a celebration of a team's accomplishments in demonstrating understanding and mastery of science, mathematics and technology concepts that require not only knowledge and problem solving skills, but also the ability to work together as a group.
HCECF is excited about our newest offering to the homeschool community, but the initial costs are great. With your help, we can continue to offer even more oppurtunities to local students.
Businesses who would like to contribute towards offsetting the start up costs of this program and receive their name and website listed in both the HCECF website on the Partners in Home Education page for 2008 AND next year's yearbook, please see the suggested donation amounts below. In kind donations are also gladly accepted.
HCECF is also currently seeking sponsors for each of these different elementary events for 2008:
THANK YOU
For 2009, HCECF is planning on fielding a Division B team and possibly a Division C team in addition to continuing it's Science Olympiad Division A program. Donations to help offset the start up costs of these new endeavors would be most welcome.
