Culture Club

A World of Learning!

Join us each month as we explore our world through hands-on interactive learning that is ideal for learners of all ages. We learn about countries and cultures by listening to native music, eating ethnic foods, seeing native dress, and playing indigenous games. Our first Culture Club coop, held in August 2005, provided a general overview of our world and the continents and oceans. Then, it was off to a world of discovery where we learn in depth about each continent and each country within.

Culture Club meets on the 4^th Monday of every month, and each co-op includes:

·        A general overview of the country, complete with handouts for your notebook.

·        A visual representation of the country's flag and traditional dress.

·        Food items to sample. 

·        Craft, fable, or game.

HCECF group members who have a family history from or have visited the country are encouraged to host that country's coop, so that we gain a first hand understanding of the people and culture.

Please join us as we discover a whole new world and journey through experiential coops that are sure to expand our horizons.  (notebooks and handouts will be provided).
