Kids of all ages are ALWAYS welcome at all HCECF events even if they are not at the level/stage it is geared for, unless there is a specific site restriction for ages that must be adhered to in order to use that location or if there is a specific safety concern. Oftentimes, there will be a subgroup of activities geared for a different age/level/stage than stated on the calendar depending on the needs and motivations of the families attending.
The above guidelines are simply to allow families to know the aproximate difficulty level of a given event, so they can chose appropriate ones for their families needs. Kids of all ages are welcome at all HCECF events, unless there's a special exception noted on the calendar in the Yahoo! group.
This public Calendar lists ONLY recurring events. Additional events that do not occur monthly on a regular schedule are located on our members-only calendar in our Yahoo! group. Certain events occur only during certain times of the year (example - practices for JFLL, FLL, EARLY & SECME). Those not currently happening are NOT shown in bold type on this calendar.
Events prefaced with "HCECF's" are either run by HCECF members or special classes set up by community venues specifically for HCECF families. Other events are listed because HCECF members are regular attendees at them.
HCECF realizes we may not serve every family's unique needs and is pleased to recommend the following special focus groups to the homeschool community:
HCECF serves all ages and our programs are expanding as our kids age. For families looking for events and activities geared specifically for kids 11 & up ONLY (no younger siblings allowed), HCECF reccomends checking out another active Yahoo! group at the Ctrl Florida Pre Teen/Teen Homeschoolers website and Yahoo! group.
HCECF has its own homeschool PE program on Wednesdays in Apopka. Many HCECF families also take part in another organization's (GOHA) athletic opportunities. Check out Greater Orlando Homeschool Athletic's website and Yahoo! group.
